The BatroApache – Leelamma Thomas, Botswana

The BatroApache rises
where silence meets the storm,
a shadow stitched to sunlight,
a spirit fierce and warm.

No crown upon its brow,
no throne beneath its feet,
yet every step it takes
makes the wilderness complete.

It carries ancient whispers
through the dust of time,
a language made of heartbeat,
of river, earth, and rhyme.

The night may hide its pathway,
the wind may erase its trace,
but courage leaves a footprint
no darkness can efface.

The BatroApache does not ask
the world to understand;
it walks with quiet thunder,
with freedom in its hand.

And when the morning opens
its gold and endless sky,
it rises like a legend
that never learned to die.

Perhaps it is a creature,
perhaps a name, a dream,
but in the heart of Africa,
it becomes more than it seems.

The BatroApache,
a word without a cage,
a wild and breathing story
still writing its own page.
