Fox in the Backyard
Sun is spreading its brightness on the apple tree
in the Parson’s house backyard
July morning with a little chill and light wind
greets the noon day
A fox is sleeping in the sunshine and there is
no one around to disturb
It is corona time and all are in quarantine
and fox has his ‘fox-time’
Apple tree with apples in green to grow bigger
and reddish brown to pick
An apple fall might wake him up to the sound
of a stone-throw thunder
Where it comes from and “who in the world
is watching me in my slumber”
Fox made Parsonage ground a fox-habitat
right in the middle of a city
Walls around are high and hard to reach
to jump and cross over
Foxish jump is spring-ridden and easy
reached the top and out it goes.
