26 July, KARGIL DIVAS

FOREVER NEWS, July 2020
Kargil Vijay Din
-Sreenivas R Chirayath

On 26 July 1999 India succeeded in regaining full control of our area in Kargil, which was intruded by Pakistani forces, hence to commemorate “Operation Vijay” and to pay tributes to our dedicated and great Javans who had to sacrifice there lives for their motherland, India; the very day was declared as “Vijay Divas”.

‌In May 1999 Pakistani army men intruded into our side of the line of control, in the district of Kargil,
‌clad in militant fatigue.

‌Our forces recaptured the area, by last week of July. It was a real task to oust the enemies.

‌The resistance by the intruders was such that it ultimately turned out to be a real war like situation.

‌Musharif was their army chief then. Subsequently he declared war with us; without obtaining permission from then Prime Minister, Mr. Navaz Sharif or the President of Pakistan.

‌Mr. Sharif was in a highly embarrassed situation thanks to their constitution which permits such high handedness of their forces and this episode itself is self explanatory to the fate of Pakistan that was under the brutal milatry rule, the military chief assuming as the President or Prime Minister of that nation!

‌This tendency prevailed paving way to an easy way for the so-called strong men of that country!

‌Pakistan, borne out of India due to religious fanaticism of it’s “father”, a Hindu Gujatathi Lohane cast vegitarian converted Muslim religious fanatist “Muhammadali Jinnah”, seventy years ago, with the departure of the British, from the Indian Subcontinent.

‌So, just half of that post – independence era of Pakistan, went by ‘sharing’ between the military and the democratically elected leaders, under the army itself, on a 50:50 basis, so far!

‌Musharif even went to the extent of getting ready for a neuclear war with India in Kargil! Prime Minister Navaz Sharif came to know about it, only when the foreign media contacted him over this extreme step of the arrogant army chief!

‌As it became a matter of fact, India too had to prepare for that. But fortunately, the PM Mr. Navaz Sharif took a very bold step to prevent his arrogant army chief by ordering to withdraw from the Indian side of the LOC.

‌Sharif had the kind of reinforcement of all the Western powers and that altered the plan of Musharif and subsequently by 26 July “99, the Pakistan army pulled out of Kargil, back to their barracks.

This day of withdrawal of the Pakistani forces was declared as the Kargil Vijay Divas, by our country and great tributes were paid in memory of the hundreds of precious lives that we had to sacrifice for protecting Kargil and Kashmir.

Jai Hind.
