On the 6th day of June, in 1674 CE, Shivaji Maharaj was Crowned as the Emperor of the Maratha Empire of India, at the Fort of Raigad, one of the most renowned Historical Places.
The birth of Shivaji, took place in the year 1630 CE (?) at a place called โShivaneriโ, in Raigad District of Maharashtra and demise, on 3rd April 1680 (?).
His father Shahji was an ordinary โKiledarโ.
Shivajiโs motherโs name was Jijabai, who was very generous and intelligent.
In his very tender age itself, his mother began telling the stories from โRam Charit Manasโ and โMaha Bharatโ for Shivaji.
Having the knowledge about such valiant stories from our great epics, Shivajiโs heart was filled with patriotism and self respect, as a result of the lessons imparted by his great mother.
Shivaji gradually rose to the position of โChatrapatiโ, though he belonged to an ordinary family.
He was always in a fighting mood with โMugalโ invaders.
The Mugal kings were bent upon making Shivaji, on their favour, but the valiance in Him, nursed the dream of restoring the nation to pristine glory with itโs original culture.
Though the Mugals resorted to all sorts of tricks to get Him to their side, but having got high intelligence and self respect, the Chatrapati put the invading kings down.
At last, Shivajiโs wish began taking wings, and he established His childhood dream of making a nation with its own original culture, into a reality!
Thus, eradicating all kinds of obstacles, Shivaji succeeded to bring territories stretching from Thanjavur (in the present Tamil Nadu State) in the South of India, and in the North, uptill Meerut, in todayโs Uthar Pradesh State, under His own control!
So Shivaji was the only citizen in the post โmythologicalโ India, Who could keep the flag of our great nation, aloft, by equipping Himself with genuinely great unchalagable powers, only with His most ambitious national pride that He had begun attaining through the great stories of our glorious past as a prominent nation, from His beloved mother Jijabai!
Hence the era of Chatrapati Shivaji would always give us great strength and self respect as one of the most important nations, with its ancient glory intact, in the minds of Indiaโs citizens, generation after generation, as to the time when Chatrapati Shivaji ruled a major portion of India.
Thus Chatrapati Shivaji could prove, also that it doesnโt matter, if one belonged to a family of humble backgrounds or any other kind of low beginnings, if one has the real courage and self respect as a citizen of such a great nation, he/she could achieve any such great thing, combating any kind of impediments!
Indiaโs greatest sons and daughters, like Shivaji, Jijabai, Rani Lakshmibai etc, will live for ever, in the minds of her citizens, for ever, generation after generation.
