LONGING FOR HER RETURN-Gopan Ambat

Summer’s warmth fades away
I cherish scarce-lit days
visit at summer’s end
Dark, wild, and tempting
Bleak light shivers
Gray skies weep tears of rain
Mystery’s scent in every drop
A silent promise of monsoon
My courtyard lies dry
Heart longs for a bubble dance
Will Love’s sweet rainfall pour?
Reviving my barren land
Fierce monsoon’s raging torrent
Eyes that melted frost
Vanished into skies
Leaving a deep longing
Gloomy days linger
Darkness fuels hope
Will she return?
Chilling rain’s gentle kiss
My heart trembles
My soul’s quiet prayer
Will she return?
