Towards a New Heaven and a New Earth
I do anticipate a new Heaven and a New Earth. I am a Christian and I believe that the sky and the earth of the present will give way to a new sky and a new earth. The earth is beyond redemption and a new earth is needed if we are to survive. According to the Bible, God created the sky, the earth, the ocean, and everything in them when He found the universe in complete void and emptiness. He created man and his wife and allowed them to settle in the Garden of Eden where they had everything in plenty. But Man’s disobedience resulted in his expulsion from the garden. Man became destined to endless toil. From time to time God chose men of his heart for redemption. Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, and others got chances to redeem the Promised Land of milk and honey.
The people are still sinning. There was only at one time during Noah’s period when God destroyed the world and everybody and everything in the world except Noah and his family and the chosen creatures. Another world sprang up from this small number. Again, it seems to be a rotten time for the world to perish.
“First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this coming he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. “But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of the water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.” (2 Peter 3:3-7)
“That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will be melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the house of righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:12 (b) -13)
I believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. When the trumpet sounds, He will appear among the clouds, and in a flash, those who are living in the faith of Jesus Christ and have accepted Him as their Saviour will be risen along with those who lived and died in Christ from their tombs. Their bodies will be transformed. There won’t be decay anymore. There will be a reign under Lord Jesus in the gold structure descended from heaven for a thousand years (the millennium era). It will be a time of absolute peace. (Revelation: 20) When Satan is defeated finally, the door of eternity will be open for the good to heaven and for the bad to hell with eternal torture. I wish all my dear and near ones will be resurrected.
