ലോക റെക്കോർഡ് ജേതാവായ (യു.ആർ.എഫ്) കാരൂർ സോമൻ മാവേലിക്കര ചാരുംമൂട് സ്വദേശിയാണ്. ഒരു ദിവസം ലോകത്താദ്യമായി ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ (34) പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തതിനുളള അംഗീകാരമായിട്ടാണ് ലോക റെക്കോർഡിൽ ഇടംപിടിച്ചത്. ആമസോൺ ഇന്റർ നാഷണൽ എഴുത്തുകാരൻ എന്ന ബഹുമതിയടക്കം ഇരുപതോളം പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു. മലയാള മനോരമയുടെ യുവ സാഹിത്യ സഖ്യ അംഗമായിരുന്നു. ഹൈസ്‌കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി ആയിരിക്കെ മലയാള മനോരമയുടെ ‘ബാലരമ’യിൽ കവിതകൾ എഴുതി. ആകാശവാണി തിരുവ നന്തപുരം, തൃശ്ശൂർ നിലയങ്ങളിൽ ഞാനെഴുതിയ നാടകങ്ങൾ പ്രക്ഷേപണം ചെയ്തു.

ഹൈസ്‌കൂൾ പഠനകാലം: താമരക്കുളം, വള്ളികുന്നം, ചുനക്കര, പാലമേൽ എന്നീ പഞ്ചാ യത്തുകളിലെ ഹൈസ്‌കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കായി നൂർനാട് ലെപ്രസ്സി സാനിറ്റോറിയം ഒരു ഉപന്യാസ മത്സരം ‘കുഷ്ഠരോഗവും നിവാരണ മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളും’ എന്ന വിഷയത്തിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കു കയുണ്ടായി. മത്സരത്തിൽ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനം സമ്മാനമായി ശ്രീ.ബി.കെ. ബി നായരുടെ ‘പ്രസംഗ സോപാനം’ എന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥം ശ്രീ. തോപ്പിൽ ഭാസിയിൽ നിന്ന്  ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി. പിന്നീട് ശ്രീ. തോപ്പിൽ ഭാസി എന്റെ ഗൾഫിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മലയാളത്തിലെ ആദ്യ സംഗീത നാടകം ‘കടലിനക്കരെ എംബ സി സ്‌കൂൾ’എന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിന്  അവതാരിക എഴുതുകയുണ്ടായി.വി.വി.എച്ച്.എസ്‌സ്‌കൂൾ വിദ്യാ ർത്ഥിയായിരിക്കെ വാർഷിക കലാപരിപാടിയിൽ പോലീസിനെ വിമർശിച്ച് ഞാനെഴുതിയ ‘ഇരുള ടഞ്ഞ താഴ്വര’ എന്ന നാടകം അവതരി പ്പിച്ച് ‘ബെസ്റ്റ് ആക്ടർ’ സമ്മാനം നേടി. ആ നാടകം മാവേലി ക്കര പോലീസിനെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിച്ചു. അവർ നക്‌സൽ ബന്ധം ആരോപിച്ച് എന്റെ പേരിൽ കേസെടുത്ത് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത് മർദ്ദിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് പണ്ഡിത കവി ശ്രീ. കെ. കെ. പണിക്കർ ഇടപെട്ട് പോലീസിൽ നിന്ന് എന്നെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു. പോലീസിന്റെ നോട്ടപ്പുളളി ആയിരിക്കെ ഒളിച്ചോടി ബീഹാറിൽ റാഞ്ചിയിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെയടുക്കലെത്തി. അവിടെ റാഞ്ചി ഏയ്ഞ്ചൽ തിയ്യേറ്ററിന് വേണ്ടി നാടകങ്ങളും ഗാനങ്ങളുമെഴുതി.

പഠനം:  കേരളം, റാഞ്ചി, ന്യൂ ഡൽഹി എന്നിവടങ്ങളിൽ. ആദ്യ കാലങ്ങളിൽ ഉത്തരേന്ത്യ യിലും, ഗൾഫിലും ജോലിചെയ്തു. ആദ്യ ജോലി ‘റാഞ്ചി എക്‌സ്പ്രസ്സ്’ ദിനപത്രത്തിൽ. ഇപ്പോൾ ലണ്ടനിൽ താമസം. അൻപത്തിയേഴ് രാജ്യങ്ങൾ സന്ദർശിച്ചു. നാലര പതിറ്റാണ്ടിനിടയിൽ നാട കങ്ങൾ, ഏകാങ്ക നാടകങ്ങൾ, സംഗീത നാടകങ്ങൾ; നോവലുകൾ,ബാലസാഹിത്യങ്ങൾ, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് നോവലുകൾ; കഥ കൾ, ചരിത്ര കഥകൾ; കവിതകൾ, ഗാനങ്ങൾ, ലേഖനങ്ങൾ, യാത്രാ വിവര ണങ്ങൾ; ജീവചരിത്രം, ആത്മകഥ,  ശാസ്ത്ര കായിക, ടൂറിസം രംഗങ്ങളിൽ അറുപത്തിയെട്ട് (68) കൃതികൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. 1985 മുതൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ എല്ലാ പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടേയും നാമം ‘ക’ എന്ന അക്ഷരത്തിൽ തുടങ്ങുന്നു എന്നത് മലയാള സാഹിത്യരംഗത്തെ തന്നെ ആദ്യവും അത്യ പൂർവ്വവുമായ സംഭവമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.

മൂന്ന് കൃതികൾ ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം/ ടെലിഫിലിം ആയി. ‘ഗ്ലാസ്സിലെ നുര’, ‘ഇവർ നമ്മുടെ ഓമ നകൾ’ എന്നിവ പേരെടുത്ത് പറയാവുന്നവയാണ്. രണ്ട് നോവലുകളും ഒരു കഥാസമാഹാരവും ഇംഗ്ലീഷി ലേക്ക് പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്തി. Karoor Soman is a renowned Malayalam writer from London. He is an Universal Records Forum(URF) World Record Holder for most 34 books Released / published by a person in a single day. He is a writer who has made outstanding contributions to Malayalam literature. He hails from Charummood, Mavelikara, Kerala, India. Soman began his literary activities in his school days, with radio dramas. His literary work Consists of Drama, Novels, Stories (English, Malayalam, Children’s), Articles, Travelogue, Stories, History, Historical stories, Poems, Travelogues, Biography. 3 of his stories and novels got translated into English and three of his stories became short films and one story became cinema called “Abu”.

He has written 68 books to his credit covering a variety of some informative subjects such as sports, science and tourism. He won many awards in his literary career spanning over four decades. From 1985 onwards, all his 68 literary titles start with the letter ”K” starting from Kadalkara and is unique in Malayalam literary history as no other writer in the world has managed to do this as of this date.

Karoor Soman started the first Malayalam magazine in 2005 from United Kingdom, called Pravasi Malayalam(Chief editor Kakkanadan). He is the Chief Editor of Lima World Library.com (International Online Literary Portal), and Managing director of Karoor Publications/ E-Book Amazon Publications/Distribution.

Karoor Soman has been recognised from Kerala and internationally and received around 20 awards including from late Prime minister Narasimha Rao, Kerala Chief minister OmmenChandy and well known Kerala writers.During his high school years he started writing poems for Balarama, a children magazine by Manorama and later turned to write radio dramas of which Kartanittu and Karmekham were broadcasted by Trivandrum and Thrissur radio stations in Kerala. After the 1970s, he was the only youth member for the Kerala YuvasahityaSakyame from Mavelikara which was run by a leading news paper Malayalam Manorama, Kottayam. In 1973,his controversial drama “EruladanjaThazhwara”was presented at Thamarakulam VV High School. The play portrayed the abuse of police towards society. He got the best character actor in the competition at the Annual Day Celebrations. This drama was watched by some of the attending student’s parents who worked at the Mavelikara police station. After the drama some of the police personnel accused him of being a naxalite and threatened him. The police came to know that the same drama was to be played at the Nooranadu Leprosy Auditorium on their Annual Day. As predicted the police were not so pleased about this news and decided to plan a trap for him. They conjured a false police case against him connected with Naxalite group and had him arrested, beaten and tortured at the Mavelikara police station. At that time Malayalam and Sanskrit poet and pandit K.K.Paniker come to the station and get released him. This was his first punishment for bringing out the love and truth that he had towards literature writing. The police and his parents threatened him to stop writing or leave Thamarakulam/Charumood. Lastly he escaped to North India, Ranchi where he worked for the Daily newspaper called Ranchi Express.

During this time he also wrote drama and songs for Ranchi Angel Theatres. Later on his dramas were played in Agra, Delhi, Bokaro, Ludhiyana and Mumbai by the Malayalam samajam and associations. In 1975, his first ‘KalayumKalavum’ was published by Ranchi Malayalaee Association Magazine called malayalee. In 1985, Kottayam VidhyarthiMithram published his first musical drama “Kadalkara”. This drama Foreword written by drama and filim song writer sreemulamnagaramvijayan. He wrote his second musical drama “Kadalinakkare Embassy School” which was the first Malayalam drama from the Gulf countries. This drama Foreword is written by Thoppil Bashi.

In 1990, His first novel Kannirpookal published by SPCS/ NBS and Foreword is written by ThakazhiSivasankara Pillai. His English novel, Malabar Aflame was released in the British Parliament. He acts as Associate Editor, Editor and representative of various publications. During the London Olympics 2012, he reported London Diary for Madhyamam Malayalam newspaper from London. He has also been the Chairman of World Malayali Council for the Middle East and African regions and he was the Literature section Convenor and Chief Editor of Jawala magazine for the biggest organization in UK called UUKMA. Karoor Soman has endeared himself to the Keralites in the fascinating world of Malayalam and English Literature.

He is also the chief editor of LIMA World Library Publications online, Karoor Publications, K.P E-Paper Publications via Amazon. He has visited over 57 countries. He has been recognized as an Amazon International writer and has won multiple accolades and awards.

I happened to go through the works of Karoor Soman while I was preparing a book on his literary work (Kalathinte Ezhuthakakangal/BookCross Publica and Amazon).It was like a journey for me from one seaport to another. While I prepared the study report based on his books, I couldn’t include certain matters. I hereby like to record certain matters in that regard as I feel that his books are very valuable in the study of Malayalam literature, as his literary journey is inclusive of various thoughts.

Karoor Soman has written 68 books in which the tile of all those books starts with the Malayalam alphabet “Ka” in the time limit of 01.04.1985 ti 05.08.2024. These books are unique. On 13.12.2024, Karoor Soman’s name was included in the URF World Record for his immeasurable contributions to world literature. He contributed 34 books released in a day in 12 different areas of knowledge. His contribution in this field is about 12 works such as Drama, Malayalam novels, Children novels, English novels, Malayalam Stories, English Stories, Historical stories, Poems, Articles, Travelogues, Autobiography, History, Biography, Science and Sports etc. Since 1978 he has started his foreign trips.

In the International Journal “Jait”, the first Malayalam review for an English novel was published on 01.01.2019 (Malabar A Flame/ Karoor Soman). The review was prepared by the research scholar of New Delhi Jain University, Miss.Chithra Susan Thampy. The novel was published by Media House and Amazon, New Delhi. The novel “Kalpaadukal” written by Karoor and published by Poorna Publications, Calicut was the first Malayalam novel from Europe (05.11.2007).

From abroad,the first Malayalam musical drama was”Kadalinakkare Embassy School” (05.08.1999,2011 – Pref….avatharika written by Thoppil Bhasi). Apart from all these writings, Karoor has started the first literary journal “Pravasi Malayalam” from Europe. His English novel “The Malabar A Flame” is a bestseller through amazon. In 2022, he received the amazon International Literary Award including around other twenty national/international awards. Since 2020, he has been at the forefront of certain leading publishers like Lima World Library Literature Online, KP/Karoor AmazonPublications etc.So far I have noted that he is the only Malayalam writer is writing worldwide.
