My Free Heart – GEETHA RAVINDRAN

Someone
Seems unseen
From an unheard cosmos
Beckons me…
Come, join me –
Put you into me –
I pledge
In turn
Thousands of years
To you –
– Oh! Sure, take away
All that of me;
My hands…my legs…
My head and soul…
And whatever
Ear-marked
And adorned with my label –

But, no!
Not my heart that throbs…
I’d live
Though for a while;
And my heart be
With no bond stamped on it;
And no bandage wrapped on it.
