THREE MONTHS AGO

On a snowy, misty morning
Through the chill of a winter
New mango flowers in bloom,
Showering away all my gloom,
My whole senses came alive,
A new fragrance filled the air,
An alluring picture to strive for,
Nature’s perfect ravishing art,
In each green petal and leaf,
A novel feeling in my heart,
From the abyss, beyond belief.

MONTHS ROLLED ON….

To this summer, I’m pinned
Gentle breeze, carry-
the fragrance to my soul,
Colour of nature’s bounty-
In mangoes, make me whole.
Fragrant promise still on air,
Ripe mangoes are so near,
Swinging on tree boughs,
Soothing summer’s sear.
Nature’s sweet miracle,
Dreams of sugary bliss,
In this courtyard space.
Golden blooms on branches,
Dreams of fruit arise,
Mangoes grow, half-formed,
Cooling the fiery days.
Wind, oh smoothing zephyr
Carry my hopes high,
Blow across green canopies,
In this scorching April
Dreams of succulent bites,
Oh, sweet west wind,
Whisper through leaves,
Sing of mango’s wonders.
